The Certificate III in Individual Support reflects the role of support workers who provide person-centred care and assistance to individuals in community, home, residential, aged care, and disability support settings.
Students develop the practical skills and knowledge required to support people to maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life while working under supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The course focuses on delivering individualised support, communication, legal and ethical practice, infection prevention and control, workplace health and safety, and supporting diverse individuals.

Students are provided with learning materials, assessment resources, trainer support, and access to practical learning activities designed to reflect current industry standards..

Reassessment

GITE provides students with opportunities for reassessment and additional support where required, in accordance with its assessment policies and procedures.

Recognition

Successful students will be awarded the nationally recognised qualification CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability). Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer may be available for eligible applicants.

Eligibility/ Entry requirements

Students must:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Meet English language requirements for the course.
Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Satisfy requirements for vocational placement, which may include Police Checks, Working with Children Checks, NDIS Worker Screening, and vaccination requirements where applicable.
Be physically capable of undertaking practical placement activities.
